On initial assessment we will discuss your specific concerns and therapy goals. Based upon these and findings from a physical assessment, we will agree on a rehabilitation programme.
Common treatments include the provision of a home exercise programme for strength and flexibility, balance rehabilitation, postural and movement re-education, spasticity management, energy conservation techniques, and transfer and mobility practice. I will also be able to advise you on simple aids and equipment to assist your mobility and independence.
Treatment is likely to take place within your own home but can also be carried out at other locations, for example your work place, local gym or swimming pool dependent on what you would like to achieve.
I use a range of evidence-based interventions, which has evolved through clinical experience as well as attending formal and informal postgraduate training. I incorporate both Motor Learning and Bobath concepts in my treatment approach and have completed instructor level training with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute (APPI).
